I forgot to take pictures of the new BOM. Maybe today, if I remember. I should put a reminder on my phone. I got a quilt quilted and bound. It’s a challenge quilt Marian made.
I think the challenge fabric was the floral. It’s a nice quilt, and as always, her work is darn near perfect.
I got two small ones quilted for Rhonda, but I need to make binding for both of them and get it put on before I take pictures.
Betty had given me a top she made with the “Boys of the Bible” pattern. It’s 107” x 110”. I need a quilt for the Luther Fest auction, and bigger is better for the auction. I was planning to do this onefor the auction, but I can’t seem to find the time to get it finished. I decided I will quilt and bind the Boys of the Bible quilt and donate it instead. I asked Betty about it, and she said she will be okay with whatever I do with it. She gave me a three yard cut of wide backing that’s the right color, but it’s not big enough, so I spent the afternoon trying to make it bigger. Luckily, she had also given me the extra cut-offs from the quilt. I should be able to make it work.
I will be busy tomorrow working on binding some of the Poppy quilts for the Fabric Friends donations. One of the ladies texted last night and asked if I would also come to their shop on Saturday and help assemble poppy blocks. I will do what I can.
LOL on trying to make the wide backing bigger! I am slowly but surely getting my poppy blocks done. I have been thinking I might just forward all the finished blocks to you instead of finishing the entire quilt. I have so many quilts I need to finish before Christmas!
ReplyDeleteYes, even a wide back will not accommodate a 107” x 110” quilt! If you want to forward the poppy blocks, I can put them together for you.
DeleteHow about I go ahead and sew them together then send the flimsy - might save a little time. I'll give you a heads up when I send them out!
DeleteI rarely go to Hobby Lobby anymore - I used to find it interesting and now I guess I have enough of everything that I don't need (or want) more
