This and That

Hi all! I’m just popping in for a quick post. It’s been a hectic week, but that seems to be a pattern right now. I went to Shiner Tuesday evening with another guild member to sell tickets for our guild’s opportunity quilt.

The Shiner guild meets at 5:30, and they seem to have a really good group with good participation. They also support the Day One Graduation quilts for graduating foster kids, and I was told they donated 50 last year. That means they beat us by at least 20 quilts!

I am dropping off our 2026 quilts today. The lady from Region 8 is meeting me in Cuero, which is nice because I thought I would have to drive to Sequin. Betty helped me get all the quilts measured and documented and put into clear plastic bags. There are 27 of them, and we pledged 25. Here are some collages I made of the quilts:

You can click on the picture if you need to blow it up to see the quilts. This one is my favorite:

Donna made two from this pattern; I made one but mine is not quilted yet….it will have to wait for next year’s donations.

The pattern is free on Tiffany’s Quilt Life; I think it’s called “Weave It”. Something like that! We both changed it up a little to make it bigger than the original. We have to meet a minimum size of 50” x 70”.

My grandson had a birthday Wednesday. We all went out to his favorite restaurant.

Twelve years old, and a perfectly delightful young man! I still remember the day he was born, and it doesn’t seem that long ago.

He was a couple of months old in this one:
