Victoria Quilt Show 3

These were all small, wall-hanging type quilts. I loved all of them, especially the bright squares with the black background. Each square was about 1/2".

Smaller than the nail on my index finger!

Victoria Quilt Show 2

Here are some more of the pictures I got at the quilt show. I have tried to include the maker information when it was displayed.

Victoria Quilt Show

I didn't think I would be able to go to the Victoria Quilt Show this year due to my work schedule, but I was able to get away a little early on Friday, which gave me just enough time to go and see everything. I didn't have time to linger over anything so I took plenty of pictures that I could look at later for inspiration.

I'll have more later.

Dessert Roll Progress

Things are moving right along--just not very quickly. I am working seven days a week, 10 hour days, for the duration of this shutdown job. I have a few hours in the evenings to sew, and then I can iron the blocks during lunch. This is what I've gotten done, plus a little more:
The colored blocks are primarily red and/or green, but I did notice some of the greens have a bluish tint to them. There also won't be a lot of variety, as I used the three dessert rolls which were mostly alike, and each had a couple of repeats. It's all okay though; my main goal is to get it used up, and so far that is happening. Here's a shot from the side:

I actually forgot the name of the pattern. I will need to look in the book and see what it is called. Okay, I looked it up. It's called Marmalade Cake. My color-way is not very marmalade-ish. I'll have to think of something else.

Dessert Rolls 2

I got the needed strips cut and all are counted out in the appropriate stacks.

I pulled some of the gold and some of the neutral so I could cut the half-square triangles. I should have time to get them sewn tonight; hopefully pressed too, but it depends how tired I am after work.

I'm doing this pattern.

Where they used red, I will use gold, and my darker reds and greens will be where they used the medium florals. I will know more about whether or not I like it once I start putting the blocks together. Of course, the main goal is to get it all out of the stash.
