I did manage to get a couple of quilts finished this week.I couldn’t get the color to photograph correctly on this one. It’s all Kaffe fabrics. I think it shows up a little better in this closeup.
I also finished this jellyroll race quilt and put the binding on it.The back is the same as the border. In fact, it didn’t have a border, and I used some of the backing fabric to add one.
My grandson’s birthday was Tuesday, and here he is with the quilt I gave him.The fabric has footballs, soccer balls, and baseballs. I thought he had probably outgrown the last one I made him (Mario Brothers).
I need to clean house this weekend and do laundry. I ran out of laundry detergent, and I keep forgetting to buy more. Now that I wrote it down here, I will probably remember to get some.
Lol on that meme - it has my favorite word in it - "whilst". :D I totally get the un-motivation. I am slowly coming out of mine. I have gained about 15 lbs in 1-1/2 years from being un-motivated! I am not happy about it. When I walk on the treadmill I have more energy, but I go in spurts, can't seem to stay on a dedicated schedule. But I have high hopes that I can lose at least part of the weight this year and am finally being more active in the sewing room, and that helps!
ReplyDeleteYour grandson is so cute. They do grow out of their quilts, don't they! Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Yes, I totally get it. I have also gained some extra weight that needs to come off. I just need to focus!
DeleteWell I don't know what your productivity goals were but compared to the "spuddling" I've been doing lately (adding THAT to my quilting volcabulary list stat!), three very lovely finishes looks like a lot accomplished to me! You know what they say, even if you are going slow you are lapping those of us that haven't started, LOL! Is the plaid in the border of the Kaffe quilt one of his fabrics too? Love the colors of the "race" quilt, it reminds me of a Christmas UFO I should have finished up long ago. That looks like a happy birthday quilt recipient who will enjoy his new quilt!
ReplyDeleteThank you Vivian. Yes, the plaid print is also Kaffe.
DeleteI think you are being too harsh on yourself. I think you did very well this week. I see a lot of forward motion in this post. Pat on the back, my dear. It might not be your "usual" productivity level but it's still very acceptable. Love the first and the last pictures. Enjoy! ;^)
ReplyDeleteThank you for the kind words. I am normally pretty high energy, so this slump is frustrating for me.
