I’m still trying to get caught up, and it might be a losing battle! I’ve been busy quilting most days, and I’ve gotten a few customer quilts done. This one was a challenge.
I think it’s super cute, but there are lots of appliqués, and some of the flowers had padding in the centers. I had to use the computer to mask out the padded parts, and I try really hard not to do custom work, but I am counting the masking as custom (although I’m not charging her for custom). There is a lot of texture because Dinah brought me the extra loft poly batting! I really like the blocks with the yoyo flowers.
I just may use this idea in a future quilt, or more likely on a tea towel.
I got Penny’s donation quilt finished, and she picked it up yesterday. It turned out really nice, and she dropped off three more for me to quilt. She had been on a retreat and was able to accomplish a lot.
I don’t have pictures of all the projects I have made for Luther Fest and they have already been taken to the church. Janice contributed three sets of placemats, and Betty brought me a stack of bowl cozies, and I had done some potholders and tea towels. Thank God for friends! I was asked if I could do some potato bags, so I will work on that this week. I have the fabric; I just need to pre wash it, which I will do today. I’m typically not a pre washer, but for items that will be used in the kitchen, particularly for food prep, I think pre washing is necessary since they will be laundered frequently.
I went to Ganado Saturday to pick up my block of the month. I didn’t take pictures of it yet, so I’ll hold off on that until tomorrow.
Goodness you sound crazy busy. And just when you finish quilting a quilt, you get brought 3 more - lol!
