We had a quilt guild meeting Thursday. Actually, there was no meeting or program scheduled, but we already had the meeting place reserved, and we had planned to make it an open sew, work on what you want day. Connie (the shop owner who is collecting quilts for the Central Texas flood victims) called someone in the guild and asked if we could help with binding the quilts they are sending. Yes! We picked up what she had and were finished by around 1:00 pm. Here is a small stack that was finished when I took the picture.
I took one unfinished one home to work on and finished it up yesterday.
It has signature blocks in it:
Yes, it does say 2013.....I have some opinions about that, but I will try and keep them to myself. I am going over to Connie's shop later today to help put some of the poppy blocks together. I have some grandkid stuff going on, so I can't do all day, but I'm sure even a couple of hours will help.
Oh! The weatherman didn't tell us the truth this week. We were supposed to get a cool front, but as far as I can tell, it didn't happen. When I got up yesterday at 5:00 am, it was 74, not 69, and by mid-afternoon, it was in the 90's.
How great that you got to work on those quilts! I bet Connie is just overwhelmed with quilts. Is the signature blocks one also for flood victims? Doesn't it feel good to outsmart technology? LOL I would feel exactly the same way about the watermark. Good luck on all you want to get done!
