Busy Weekend

I’m back from Houston, and we had a great time there. I dropped the dogs off at 7am on Thursday morning, picked up Betty, and we hit the road. Our hotel was about a half a mile from the convention center. It was a nice walk with lots to look at.

At the festival, we saw lots of quilts,

and lots of vendors.

I didn’t buy much—I don’t really need anything, but I did buy all twelve of the festival shop hop blocks.

It’s like a typical shop hop where you get a passport with a list of the participating vendors and visit each one and buy their block. Once  the passport is complete, you turn it in to get entered in a drawing. I never did find out what the drawing prizes were, since I don’t think I will win. I mean, there were a lot of people there, and a lot of them were buying the blocks. I’m anxious to get started on the quilt, but I have a few things to finish first.

We came back Saturday evening, and I met some friends at the Dia de Muertos celebration.

There were vendors,
food trucks,
A DJ,

and plenty of costumes.

I didn’t stay very late; I was pretty tired and wanted to go to bed early.

Of course, Sunday was the time change. I went to church, and after I came home, I finally gave out. Nothing got done Sunday afternoon except a 2 mile walk with the dog. Even then, my legs were starting to hurt, and I came home and sat in the recliner for the rest of the day. I wanted to do some sewing, but I just couldn’t do it. Another early-to-bed night. I’m hoping to get back in the groove today.
