I actually found this quilt while I was searching for something else, but it definitely caught my attention. With all the scrap cutting I have been doing lately, I am all about the 2-1/2" squares.

To Do List Tuesday 11-8-22
I haven’t done a lot this past week….we were in Houston Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, so I wasn’t expecting any great progress on anything. My list from last week:
1) Get some more done with the scraps....as in every day that I am in town. I’m not sure what my problem is with this one. I was doing so well….until I wasn’t. I need to keep working on it though.
2) Get two customer quilts done. I actually did okay on this. In fact, I got three done.

Quilt Festival Part 3
I have so many pictures…..I am trying to choose the best, but all the quilts were just amazing. Here are some that were not so modern.
There was a whole display of these star quilts:
They were done by different quilters, all from Washington, but I’m not sure if they were part of some guild or group or what.
This one was hand quilted. Here is a detail shot of the quilting.
I got a couple of shots of this one.
I have plans to make this….actually, I have had the plan for a while….I already bought the red solid. My squares won’t be so small, though.
We didn’t go to the show Saturday until after lunch. The Aggies were playing so we stayed at the hotel until halftime to watch the game. I occupied myself with crocheting and finished two crosses and a dish cloth.
Have a good Monday wherever you are reading this!

How About Some More?
We are still in Houston—leaving later today. I am anxious to get home, but in the meantime, I have lots more pictures. The majority of quilts at the show were quite modern. There was a section of traditional quilts that were reproductions of old ones, but unfortunately, photography was not permitted. Here are some more of the improv ones:
I didn’t post the details that go with each of these, but I do have them, so if you want to know more about any of the quilts, let me know, and I will post it.

Quilt Festival
We had an uneventful drive to Houston and were able to check our bags at the hotel even though it was too early to check in. We also put our car in the hotel parking garage. The parking is not cheap, but it is downtown Houston, so….
The lines weren’t too bad this year (although a little more than last year), and guess who I got to see?
Yes! It’s Kaffe and Brandon. The microphone didn’t seem to be working, so I didn’t catch most of it. Oh well.
There was an entire section of improv quilts, and I took lots of pictures.
I love the improv piecing. I will share more tomorrow. There is also a display from the Texas quilt museum, so I hope to see that when I go back tomorrow. I was just exhausted by the end of the day. I am not as young as I used to be. We ended the day with TexMex and margaritas.
So good!

This and That
I was so scattered Thursday—I get like that some times, and then I am not too productive. I worked on several things but didn’t actually finish any. I got a quilt trimmed and got a new one loaded.
It’s the same fabrics as the last one….only bigger squares this time. The last one was 5” squares.
I ordered a sewing machine cover from Amazon for my Singer 403. The price was right, but the fit is not good. You can see it won’t go over the machine bed.
I was at Hobby Lobby yesterday looking for cotton crochet yarn and found some fabric on clearance for $3/yard. I bought some to see if I can make a sewing machine cover like the one from Amazon, only bigger.
I even have some green dot I can use for the binding.
And, I had some clear vinyl squirreled away that I can use for the front pocket. This is as far as I got with that project.
