Here's a free pattern from Art Gallery Fabrics:
The size is 62" x 62" so not too big, but it could easily be made bigger. Of course, this uses a specific fabric collection, but I think it would look good in bright scraps on that lovely gray background. The leaves are all applique, but they are big, so not too fussy. This would be a great hand applique project for the winter months.
